Classes: Defense Against the Dark Arts, Muggle Studies, History of Magic, Arithmancy, Transfiguration Bloodline: Halfblood (Though assumed pureblood) Sexual Orientation/Marital Status: Heterosexual, Single Please be as descriptive as possible here. Appearance: (PB Adam Brody). Michael Corner has a ruggedly curly head of dark hair. It's usually not that tamed, but he considers it to be attractive enough. He has a decent body built for Quidditch, a body he is very proud of (Michael wasn't the most attractive of boys when younger). Most would say that his features are a little goofy (a trait he has mostly grown out of), especially his smile. History: Michael's backstory is rather entertaining. Best put, his pureblood mother, Rebecca had an affair with a muggle. It went on for a month or so, and dissapated quickly after Rebecca thought her husband (pureblood Albert Corner) was onto her. The muggle in question was not heard of since then, the truth about what happened to the man after the relationship was ended a little foggy. However, one effect the muggle had on Rebecca was a little boy. The pregnancy, one big lie, had Rebecca concerned: if the product of her little adventure wasn't of a magical persuasion, she was in big trouble. Thankfully, when Michael Corner was 11, that special acceptance letter arrived; his mother nearly fainted with relief. The only individual who knows about his illegitimacy is his mother. She has not told her family, her husband, or her son of the news. This is primarily due to both parents' heritages. Both Michael's mother and father are from families which are strongly pureblood. This runs down to Michael, who is proud of his lines. However, he would rather enjoy his schooling. With friends such as Terry Boot, he cannot turn on a muggleborn or anyone of impure heritage. Michael's 'father', Albert, does not necessarily believe that muggleborns and half-bloods deserve death or purification, but he does wish for stronger regulations concerning secrecy of the wizarding world. He wished to pursue interest in the more extreme of Pureblood groups, but Michael's mother did not have the heart to, and dissuaded him. Rebecca still holds the belief that muggles do not belong in the magical world, but it is an ideal softened by the truth about her son's half-bloodedness. Personality: Michael is hard-headed, very stubborn. He wants things to go his way, and doesn't always think before he speaks. He offends some people if they don't understand his dry humor or blunt nature. He can be sarcastically goofy, and ridiculously overdramatic. Life hangs on Quidditch, and Chasing is his life. On the subject of blood, he'd rather just remain out of it. This is a good thing, considering the unknown nature of his own bloodline. Michael tends to stick up for his less rambunctious friends. Strengths and Weaknesses: Strengths- Quidditch. His life is Quidditch. He is intelligent and studious, but would fail a course if it meant Quidditch victory. Weaknesses- His blunt nature offends people. He isn't that good with girls. Habits\Quirks: Michael can get to the point in an argument where he'll simply lose his place in words. He draws blanks at times. Friends and Enemies: Michael finds his friends mostly on the Ravenclaw Quidditch team, taking it as (or perhaps more) seriously than Mandy. He is a chaser and is almost in love with Mandy, though he'd never say it. His closest friends are Terry Boot and Anthony Goldstein. He's always sort of had a crush on Padma Patil, but would never see himself with her. He usually fancies Quidditch girls. Knowing he cannot achieve Mandy, he is aiming to get to know Ginny Weasely this year. Likes\Dislikes: Likes- Quidditch. Quidditch. Girls. Quidditch. Dislikes- Blood-obsessed students. Losing Quidditch games. Losing friends due to his snarky nature. Writing Example, First Person I've decided not to mention the Quidditch game. So. Classes are going well. Not too difficult. OWLs this year. Should be breezy with some studying. Yup. Just have to keep up the studying. Study study I'll just end this journal entry now. Seems my mind's aimed on something. Better go find a way to distract myself. Writing Example, Third Person The day had been a long one. Just last week, Ravenclaw had lost to Slytherin in a significant Quidditch match. The evening settled in, an inward feeling of resignation welling in Michael Corner, who sat in the library, a book concerning Quidditch laying open atop his other - actual class-related - reading material. He and a fellow Ravenclaw were supposed to be studying for Muggle Studies, but what type of muggle creation could match the all-time fascinating, brilliant sport of Quidditch? All these non-magical sports...no brooms, no dangerous flying objects, no quick wits and elaborate aerial stunts...at least not all combined into one clever game. Corner was entranced with a certain technique outlined in the book, until his study partner bumped him. "Oy, Michael, look at her," he motioned a couple tables away at Padma, who'd just sat down. She was an attractive girl, one of the more feminine of types. Certainly not the type of girl Michael was used to interacting with on a regular basis. "I heard she's still on the market." Michael glanced up from his book. Though the day of a Quidditch match he was usually unavailable to the rest of the real world, today was not a Quidditch day. He looked over at Padma. He then turned back to his friend. "That prissy lass couldn't even stay on a broom, mate." Michael usually went after the more athletic types, but Padma was a beauty. He considered the fact. "Then again, nothing wrong with a pretty face, eh?" With a smirk, Michael chuckled with his friend. "Maybe I need a bit of fun. I heard it does wonders for a Quidditch game." The other boy shook his head laughing. "You know all you ever do is think of Quidditch?" He pushed Michael a bit. "Your perfect lass would be some sort of butchy Quidditch star. Arms as big as a man's, with a nice big mustache to top it off." Michael eyed his friend, brow raised. "Oh yes, just give me a huge, muscle bound femme. That's my cup of tea right there." His voice was mocking. "Lay off. Just cause I like em with some sort of Quidditch skills like me doesn't mean I want a girl that shares the same features as me." The kid laughed again. "Oh, I'd say that'd be feminine enough, mate." Michael promptly shoved the insulter, smirking because he knew he set himself up. They were quickly hushed by the librarian, whose glare settled their rambunctious behavior. | |||||||||
